The day was damp and slippery, just the way that we like it.
Sunday 22 February saw a group of newcomers to CC4WD club at Cooranbong Community Centre to complete their Stage 1 driver training. The material covered was well presented and educational.
After lunch the rain had sort of stopped so we headed off to Awaba quarry testing out our newly acquired convey procedures. Troy was tail end charlie. At the quarry we let our tyres down and set off to master the art of stall start recovery. A few of us needed a few runs at it.
Then it was off to conquer a few tricky climbs and descents. The rain decided to make this more interesting and slippery. The usual course had to be altered as the final hill was a bit too slippery under the conditions.
We all kept our vehicles in one piece and ourselves. We all had a great time and I think I speak for everyone that attended – we’d like to say a VERY BIG THANKYOU to our diligent and helpful teachers Bob, Simon, Troy, Neil & Monica. Your guidance and support was appreciated.
The day finished around 4pm with us all airing up our tyres.
Cheers, Sue
